This is my first time contributing to Flannel Friday! My first post is pretty basic & has been done many times before, but here it is:
I originally saw this flannel board idea at Miss Meg's Storytime. I used her template to make each color of butterfly & then I wrapped a brown pipe cleaner around to look like antennae.
Here's the rhyme:
Colorful Butterflies
(source: Perry County Public Library)
First to come to the garden bed
is a lovely butterfly of brilliant RED
Then in comes another and that makes two
Fly right in, my friend of BLUE
"This garden is fine, the best I've seen"
says the butterfly of the softest GREEN
Our garden needs a sunny fellow
Fly in butterfly with wings of YELLOW
Little friend of PURPLE, fly in too
the garden is waiting for a color like you
Hello ORANGE, we've waited so long
fly right in where you belong
Butterflies, butterflies, you're such a sight
Flying together with such delight!
I first used this flannel board activity during my The Letter B storytime.

Yay! My first non-lurking Flannel Friday!
